MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 19, 2006 – Eileen Timmins, a PhD student of Capella University’s School of Business and Technology, presented on human resources leadership at the Oxford Round Table 2006 Women in Leadership Conference at
Exeter
College in Oxford, England, on Aug. 7.
Timmin’s presentation, “Leadership within Human Resources: How is it possible for Human Resource Leaders to become Central Players at the Highest Levels of Organizational Decision-Making?,” highlighted strategies that human resource leaders can use to develop credibility and influence, specifically women human resource leaders who want a more central role in developing organizational strategy and direction.
“It was a remarkable experience. Not only the atmosphere of
Oxford
University with its history and knowledge, but also the women leaders I met in the academic world. The exchange of knowledge was just an exceptional learning event,”
Timmins said.

My understanding is that Oxford Round Table is something of a phony conference and a junket. See this discussion: http://chronicle.com/forums/index.php/topic,30869.0.html

Yep, ORT is a shame. Is Capella any better, really?
